PEARL

One cold dark night Pearl was struck in the eye by a shooting star.  Overcome with pain and sorrow she gathered her journal and ukulele and decided to change her life.  She quickly got passage on the S.S. Wherever and stayed on board til the final destination, Key West!

HAZEL

Bereft by the loss of her one true love in a terrible war,  Hazel was beside herself with grief.
I need a new start she thought and packed her backpack her guitar and her cowboy boots and headed for the nearest Greyhound bus station. Riding for days
she finally got off at the end of the road- Key West!

LATER

The girls met on the bench opposite the Green Parrot and were thrilled to talk about their common passion for music. Musical instruments were discussed
and plans made to do weekly practice.

Purpose:

By using mannequins with no faces I hope to reach people on a human level. These creatures could be any/all of us.  They are faceless but have names, thus becoming people with personalities.  The ties to us all come from the fact that we all began life as creations, we all have a backstory as to how we landed where we are- I hope to continue expanding on this by developing the girls personalities, adventures and do it with humor, changes of clothing, always with style in mind.  My goal is offer smiles through my art.

Thanks to David Hemingway for this photoshoot marking the emergence of the “Pearl & Hazel Experience”.
